Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco are the stars of the new vampire hunting movie "Day Shift". The story follows a blue collar father who wants to provide a comfortable life for his daughter. However, his job as a pool cleaner in San Fernando Valley is just a façade for his true source of income: hunting and killing vampires for the International Union of Vampire Hunters.It sounds like a fun idea, but can J.J. Perry bring it to life?
The opening scene of the film is a wild action sequence that sees Jamie Foxx shooting a shotgun at an old lady, who turns out to have been a vampire. The movie then launches into an amazing fight scene between them. I felt that the movie had a lot of fun using this type of ragdoll physicality in its action sequences, making them pop in ways that other Netflix action movies and blockbusters don't.
Day Shift is another non-serious, fun film that I felt I could truly enjoy the entire time. It was fun and entertaining. It had humor and I laughed a lot. It did draw inspiration from some brilliant vampire films, such as Blade and Lost Boys. These films are also some my favorites. The acting was flawless, the directing excellent and the cinematography very impressive. Day Shift is an enjoyable movie that's not too serious and easy to watch. It's a lot fun.
Day Shift was a very mixed movie. The movie has a lot to offer, including some action scenes that are fun and some characters like the two brothers and Seth. But the villain is horrible and there are many mediocre characters. That (Click Here) helps the stronger characters shine more. There were scenes missing that were not shown. Bud's neighbor acts as if they are friends even though she had only 3 minutes of screentime before the final scene. Bud's prank phone calling at the gas station was the best moment of the movie. It was hilarious and I enjoyed watching it. However, the movie didn't end as well. Day Shift is, in general, a mixed bag. Some parts are great, and some parts are terrible. However, if you want to have some fun, there are better movies than this one.
The movie is worth the effort thanks to Snoop Dogg. I mean, who doesn't love Snoop Dogg? He's cool.
